Zion Expedition

My friend and fellow coworker Camille and I spent the last 4 days in southern Utah for some rest and relaxation at Zion National Park. It was beautiful, but windy, but we survived the dirt and have a story to tell.
It was so windy our first night there that our buns for our burgers were falling apart they were so dry. This is my friend Camille eating her burger with a knife and fork.

This was the view outside of our tent. This is Watchman Tower and its at the entrance of Zion.

This is my friend Camille looking very happy sitting on the edge of a cliff. Needless to say, this is as close as I got because I am terrified of heights. Camille would probably say that I'm not the best person to go hiking with in Zions.

We made it to the top and I can say that I survived the heights. It was a proud day for me.

This was the view from the top. I have never been surrounded by so many cliffs. They were truly awe inspiring.

Then we visited Weeping Rock. This was truly amazing. There was water coming out of the rocks. I guess that the sandstone holds water in and it lets it out gradually. You can barely see the water coming out of the rocks in the picture above, but it was truly beautiful.

Then we went on the river walk. We live in such a beautiful world!!!!!

There were these fat squirrels everywhere. They weren't afraid of humans at all. I think they were looking for some compassionate soul for their dinner.

The next day, Camille and I went hiking up to the emerald pools. This is a photograph under the waterfall at the lower pool. It was beautiful to see the different colors on the rock.

This is the middle pool of the emerald pools. It was a beautiful sight.

This was the view on our way down. I couldn't believe how high I was.

These mountains are called the Three Patriarchs. The one to the far left is Abraham, the one in the middle is Isaac, and the white peak behind the red one is Jacob. The red peak is Mount Moroni. You have to have a little Mormon naming going on here.

Overall, I had a great time and was grateful for the time off of work. It's nice once in a while to remember why you're here and where you're going, and our Heavenly Father's creations always have a positive impact on my life. I look forward to my next trip soon.
